Hold Onto Ya Bling a Redcliffe Yearling Sale success story

Hold Onto Ya Bling, the very impressive winner of the Group 3 Paleface Adios Classic over 1660 metres at Albion Park on Saturday night, is a product of the 2021 Garrard’s Redcliffe Yearling Sale.

The Bling It On gelding was offered by Margaret Donohoe’s Monarch Farm and knocked down to Alberton horsewoman Shannon Price for $16,000.

On Saturday, driver Adam Sanderson had the gelding fourth on the fence at the bell before it pulling away in the straight for a six metre win over Jewel Melody, with Smirks Like a Boss a further five-and-a-half metres away in third.

After pocketing the $18,670 winner’s cheque on Saturday, Hold Onto Ya Bling has now earned $43,662, with three wins and three placings from seven starts.

The two-year-old is the fourth winner from four starters for his dam, When To Hold, a Riverboat King mare from the family of Jack’s Legend (1:47.4), Hilarious Guest, Krug and Lancome.

Tardelli ($148,684), the richest two-year-old colt in Australia this season, is also a graduate of the 2021 Redcliffe Yearling Sale.
