2025 Sunshine Stars Sales Classic around the corner

Following on from a highly successful first edition of the Nutrien Equine Sunshine Stars Sales Classics, the dates for the 2025 finals are locked away for mid-November.

The dates are fast approaching, with the finals to be staged on Saturday, November 15, with heats to be conducted on Friday, November 7.

The Sunshine Stars has become the best value for money sales series in Australia in quick time, with just the third sale held earlier this year in February.

Only yearlings passing through the Sunshine Stars sale (or paid non-sale entries) are eligible for the Sunshine Stars Sales Classic.

The one-off sustaining payment keeps your horse eligible for each of the two, three and four-year-old series, while also ensuring entry into the national Nutrien Equine Classic Series.

Once again in 2025, two-year-old pacers (2024 Sale) will be chasing the $125,000 on offer in the finals for each sex, while three-year-olds (2023 Sale) join the money chase, with $100,000 on offer for each sex when the initial edition for three-year-olds is staged.

In 2025, two-year-old trotters will compete in a $50,000 mixed sex final.

Toro Loco (1.55.6, $87k) and Cool And Classy (1.53.7, $424k) were the inaugural two-year-old winners, with both pacers looking to add the three-year-old edition to their 2024 success.

The 2023 Sale offered a catalogue of 138 yearlings, with an amazing 76 winners already produced, alongside another 30 that have raced.

Other graduates from the 2023 Sunshine Stars Sale that are currently 3YO include, Monterey Lass (2.04.1T, $61k), My Ultimate Barney (1.52.1, $106k), London Baby (1.54.8, $56k) and Seaside Glory (1.54.3, $53k).

From the 2024 sale of 70 catalogued lots, there have already been 17 winners, with a further 22 that have raced.

These include Kicking Horse (2.03.8T, $34k), Pure Grunt (1.53.2, $104k) and Boston Chief (1.55.6, 3 wins).

General Admission

We offer free admission on all general race meetings, feature race meetings or charity events may have an entry fee. If you are unsure if the day you are attending is a feature race meeting please contact the club on 07 3262 2577.

Dress Code

The minimum dress standard for members of the general public attending The Creek is clean and neat casual dress. Footwear is mandatory at all times. Members of the general public may be refused entry by Club Officials if it is felt that these standards are not being adhered to.

Parking

Free parking is available for all general race day attendees. Our carpark can be accessed via Yulestar St, which is directly across the road from the Breakfast Creek Hotel carpark.

Race Day Facilities

Located within our main Grandstand building you will find Home Straight Bistro, TOTE and self serve betting terminals, as well as glass windows and television screens for race viewing. The building has a disabled lift and the grandstand includes a viewing deck for wheelchair access.
