A message from Jim

Firstly, I take this opportunity to thank our Chairman, the Board, our staff and the patrons and members I have met thus far, for such a warm welcome to The Creek.

I would also like to thank Ken Rutherford for the help he gave me in the handover that we completed in week 1 and for his efforts at the helm of the Club over the past 18 months.

I am not one for sugar coating and I am sure I have probably ruffled a few feathers already, but my intention comes from a good place. I believe that Albion Park Harness Racing Club has every chance of becoming a World Class Harness Racing facility, but it will certainly take all of our efforts to get there.

Our club and facilities need attention, and I am confident that should we do that well, this will be the first step in bringing patronage back to our venue. The fact that we also get to showcase our Industry at the highest level with the Inter Dominion 2025 to 2027, surely means we have an opportunity to make the biggest splash we have seen in a long time.

For these next few months, it will be all hands-on deck at the Club as we aim to exceed the expectations of our participants, sponsors and guests. We welcome any feedback that helps us present the best face of our industry, but more importantly shows that harness racing deserves a fair go.

I urge you all to remind yourself why you love harness racing as much as you do. Come along, feel the atmosphere, and join your fellow supporters in bringing this club and our industry back to where it belongs.

The Board are fully supportive of our ambitious plans, and I am certain that we have the capabilities to make Harness great again.

I made a promise to myself that should we fill Albion Park for the Interdominion Final, then the first drink will be on me. Not many Scotsmen will make that promise, I can assure you.
