Agent Black made a winning return to the track on Tuesday for trainer/driver Shane Graham, overcoming a 10-metre handicap to start a campaign that could potentially take in the Victoria Derby.
“We will give him a couple of starts here and see how he performs and if he has improved and performs well, we might keep going to Melbourne,” Graham said prior to the race.
Stepping safely, Graham allowed the impressive colt to balance before attacking for the front with one mile to travel and once in control went on to claim victory over Aldebaran Fonz, with Whirlwind Wilbur holding on for third.
It was the fourth career victory for Agent Black from just 10 starts and provided Graham with the first leg of a training treble.

Four-year-old trotting mare En Masse was the second winner for Graham, with Kelli Dawson taking the reins and overcoming a 30-metre handicap to claim the second race of the day.
Finishing best to record a 2.3-metre winning margin, the win was the first this season for En Masse which started as the outsider of the field as a $34 hope.
It was a $31 winner that gave Graham the treble and Dawson a driving double when Glover scored in the pacers standing start event.
Making his first Australian appearance from behind the tapes and resuming from a spell, Dawson sent the five-year-old straight to the front.
Through an opening half of the last mile in 60.7, the pressure increased through a 27.9 third split and then through a 27.2 last panel, Glover posted a neck margin over Alta Sensation.
In the fifth race of the day, Chris Watson secured a training quinella with Justrollingaround holding off Sports Bounty to claim the Stance Equitec Pace.

Overcoming a second line barrier, Adam Richardson took the reins on Justrollingaround and sent the mare forward to find the front with 1400 metres remaining.
Holding off a late surge from Sports Bounty which was driven by Watson, the seven-year-old mare landed the 15th win of her career and fourth this season.
Being the first Tuesday of the month, all winning trainers received products from Stance Equitec.
