The 2026 Inter Dominion series is rapidly approaching. Like, literally, right upon us. And the headline act is without doubt, Leap To Fame.
As I’ve said multiple times previously, he’s the biggest name in the game. And he’s showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
His recent feature race triumphs in the Miracle Mile (his second) and The Race (back-to-back) in Cambridge, New Zealand clearly demonstrate his star continues to rise. The seven-year-old entire has again delayed stallion duties owing to his outrageously good form which has netted him eight wins from 10 starts while banking more than a million dollars again for the fourth straight season (a feat never achieved previously).
Naturally, connections are eyeing their third Inter Dominion title following victories in 2023 and last year. But given his recent tenacious efforts, what opposition will come?
Will any Kiwi or Perth pacers will make their way to the Sunshine State? While many of the eastern seaboard-based pacers might be happily taking a ‘leave’ pass. Can you blame them? Who would want to take on the might of Leap To Fame in his own backyard?! Will this lessen the series? Absolutely not.
The attitude should be – who cares who comes!
Leap To Fame will beat the brakes off anything that steps in front of him.
So, where does that leave the host state with promotion? In my opinion – prime position!
The sole focus should be centred around Leap To Fame, aka Larry because he’s earned the right to be the primary focus.
The promotion should go into overdrive – “Larry Mania”.
People love witnessing greatness, champions in their prime and Leap To Fame ticks all the relevant boxes.
Commercials, print and electronic, his image on Brisbane City Council buses, mentions throughout the Stradbroke season carnival plus exploring the possibility of have mentions at home games of Brisbane Lions, Brisbane Broncos, Redcliffe Dolphins plus the Gold Coast Suns and Titans during the halftime breaks.
Merchandise (hats, shirts, stubby coolers, keyrings, flags, posters and everything else in between) should be rolled out and made readily available.
Let’s make this a party, let’s make this a celebration of a true Queensland champion. It’s time to fully embrace our current superstar on his home patch. Larry is throwing the party and we’re all invited.
Until next time.
