Leap To Fame Headlines Saturday Night

The reigning Inter Dominion and Grand Circuit champion Leap To Fame headlines a 10 race card at The Creek this Saturday night.

Starting from barrier six in the AQWA Constructions Open Pace, the Grant Dixon trained, and driven sensation will be backing up from a clinical victory seven days prior.

This week’s assignment will see ‘Larry’ step up to the 2138 metre trip, a distance he has competed at on 10 occasions at The Creek, having won the past eight of those in succession.

It could be the last chance for Queensland harness fans to see Leap To Fame for the short term, with the Hunter Cup, Newcastle Mile and Miracle Mile his likely targets after this week’s hit out.

With seven other opponents, Tims A Trooper will be looking for a solid performance from gate one with a spot as Leap To Fame’s travelling companion possibly available.

Of the other contestants, Manila Playboy resumes from a small freshen following his last appearance in the Inter Dominion Consolation where a second line gate dented his chances, while Romanee, Deus Ex, L L Cool J will all be trying to grab a minor placing.

One of the other highlights of the night will be Sweet Miracle, the mare has been airborne since arriving in Queensland to join the Gemma Hewitt stable.

A winner of all five starts in the Sunshine State, the seven-year-old daughter of Sweet Lou made light work of barrier seven last week, taking control of the race soon after the start and leading throughout in a 1.53.4 mile.

Breaking the 1.54 rate in all of her five wins, Sweet Miracle will start from barrier six in race 9 (9.50pm) the Garrards Horse and Hound Open Mares Pace.

Race two is the Ladbrokes Same Race Multi, up to NR70 Final and has drawn together a top field of in-form pacers.

Into The Mystic will be looking to remain undefeated this preparation after successive wins in two runs back from a spell, while Bangkok Deejay is also chasing three on the bounce for trainer Shane Fraser.

Racing commences at 5.43pm.
