Stars align with Garrard’s support of TAB Queensland Constellations

Long-term supporter of harness racing Garrard’s Horse and Hound have been announced as the naming rights sponsor for night two of the TAB Queensland Constellations at The Creek.

The Garrard’s Sunshine Sprint will take place on Saturday July 17 at The Creek, one of three Group 1 features alongside the new $100K The Golden Girl and The Darrel Alexander Trotting Championship Final.

The Creek CEO Scott Steele thanked Garrard’s for their ongoing support.

“The Garrard’s Sunshine Sprint night will see incredible racing at The Creek, with three group 1s and three Group 3 features,” Mr Steele said.

“It is fantastic to have Garrard’s Horse and Hound on board to sponsors this important night.

“They have always been willing to give back to the harness racing industry and their support has been unwavering for several decades.

“This was recognised during last year’s Summer Carnival with Chris Garrard awarded life membership at The Creek.”

One of the new features of this night will be the inaugural running of the $100K The Golden Girl.

Together with the Group 3 ($30k) Fleur De Lil Ladyship Stakes the week prior, the Group 1 The Golden Girl over the flying 1660m ensures lucrative Group racing opportunities for Australasia’s best Mares and Fillies and provides the perfect springboard into the TAB Blacks A Fake the following week.

Other features of the night will include the Group 3 South East Derby, Group 3 South East Oaks and the Group 3 Badcock 4YO Championships.

The inaugural TAB Queensland Constellations is set to sparkle this winter with more than $2 million in prize money and bonuses, including 11 Group 1s across seven weeks in June and July.
