The Obsveratory April 10

Chase A Dream

Only one horse appeared to make any impact in the closing stages of The Race behind Leap To Fame, and that was the Mark Purdon driven four-year-old.

With a Rising Sun invite looking a mere formality, connections will have the choice to chase the ballot exemption or attack the ID Series through both heats rounds.

Either path, he will be a force.

Dele Row

Wisper A Secret was a winner of the Jack and Kay Waltisbuhl Memorial in 2024 on his way to victory in the Racing And Sports Rising Sun.

Dele Row claimed the same race last week to take his record to five wins from six starts this season, the past four in succession.

Cigano

Cigano contested the inaugural Protostar and since resuming for his three-year-old season, is undefeated in two appearances.

Producing a 54.6 closing half, his main threat in this Friday’s Nutrien Sales Classic will come from stablemate The Highlight Reel.

Both pacers are on a potential Queensland Derby path.

Cardigan Dan

It was an impressive racetrack debut for the Emma Stewart trained colt, stopping the clock in 1.54.8 in a heat of the Nutrien Sales Classic.

Set to tackle the Final on Friday night at Melton, the son of Downbytheseaside will be keenly watched by slot holders of The Ladbrokes Protostar, along with a number of other runners in the race.

Arcee Phoenix

The Chris Svanosio trained square gaiter made the most of a muddled start in the TAB Trot at Cambridge, pushing forward to find the front after the opening 300 metres.

Dictating from the front, Arcee Phoenix held off all challengers to claim the biggest win of his career.

Runner-up in the inaugural The Great Square at The Creek in 2023, the gelding returns to Victoria for a short spell before his preparation will begin as he targets the Trotters Inter Dominion.

Keayang Zahara

The unbeaten superstar took the first step towards an Inter Dominion campaign when stepping out at the Terang trials on Tuesday night.

Never asked for much, Keayang Zahara tackled two pacers in the trial where the now four-year-old went to the line untested.

Golden Sunset

The Shawn Grimsey trained mare has been in super form around The Creek and has taken her record to five wins in eight starts this season.

A tilt at the Inter Dominion looms, with the mare eyeing off a trip to Menangle for the upcoming Macarthur Mile.

Leap To Fame

Leap To Fame silenced his critics- if there were any- in the most emphatic way at Cambridge on Friday night in The Race by betcha.

Three-wide for the first 1000 metres before sitting parked the remainder, it was arguably a career best performance by Leap To Fame.

The Hall Of Famer will now enjoy some time in the paddock before preparing for the Inter Dominion where he is now a $2 favourite with Ladbrokes.
